A little bit of America

On the 4th of June I was invited to attend a concert of Preservation Hall Jazz Orchestra in Barbican Centre. For almost half a century, has brought the sounds and spirit of New Orleans Jazz to audiences worldwide. Coming from the heart of New Orleans French Quarter, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band emerged in 1961 from musician's riotous jam sessions. Today led by Ben Jaffe, son of founders Allan and Sandra Jaffe, their vital music is full of ricocheting rhythms and vibrant joy. It has reminded me how much I like jazz.
